About University Planning and Statistics
University Planning and Statistics (UPS) is located within the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Planning). The unit currently has 18 members of staff and its offices are located on the Clayton campus. UPS incorporates four major areas of operation: university planning; load planning; education policy and planning; and statistics.
The objectives of UPS are to:
- facilitate and support the development of strategic and management planning within Monash;
- provide analysis and information to support effective strategic decision making through strategic management and planning;
- facilitate monitoring of and review the University's performance against its core activities;
- coordinate and monitor student load planning to facilitate meeting university goals and targets;
- provide statistical information and analysis within Monash;
- fulfil statutory reporting requirements to external bodies, including DEST, DET, the ABS and other government and statutory authorities, in compliance with legislative requirements;
- facilitate and support the development of academic policy and planning within Monash; and
- undertake institutional research to draw together internal and external factors which underpin strategic decision-making and management within Monash.
